Hi folks. I used to be a regular here for several years. I spent a lot of time in the CSN chatroom. Then one of the regulars died. I had other health problems. Our older son developed acute lymphoblastic leukemia and his younger brother was diagnosed with small bowel adenocarcinoma (which is rare and is not CRC). I became very active in a number of the cancer groups on FB because I was not getting the answers that I needed here on CSN.

One of my favorite PCa forums was shut down and I sort of inherited the mantle as administrator. If anyone is interested, you can join at PCFnet.org (can't get an embedded link to work properly). Meanwhile my wife's lyphoma remission has ended. Needless to say, COVID has complicated matters and kept us from being with our children as they battle their own cancers. I had forgotten about this forum and in fact had to Google the url. Not even remembering when I was last here, I discovered that today is the fourth anniversary of me joining this website. Yes, Feb 21st, 2017. Wierd.

For all the oldtimers who are still here, I hope you are doing well. For the new guys, strap in and get ready for a wild ride.

    Welcome back

    Rob,

Welcome back. I remember you from time I was recovering from RP in late 2016 and 2017 When I was at the bottom of my life.

Your posts were always filled with hope and encouragement.

I am so sorry to hear about your and your family suffering. I hope and pray for everything to be good.

    MK

    My mission

I am sorry to read about the heavy burden that you (Rob Lee) and your family are carrying.

On another note, I was away from this Forum for several months as well. Mostly because I got upset about the major loss of data that occurred a while ago.

But I calmed down, and decided to try to be (somewhat) helpful once again...

Delighted to read of your return.  At random, yesterday I was wondering about you.....

    Good to See You

    Hi RobLee,

We go back several years on the old board. Thank you for ALL your work on transferring and maintaining that group and all its "sticky' data.

Sorry to hear of your family's continuing travails with cancer.  You are a true example of strength for others.

I've been mostly spending time on Facebook, which has several PCa support groups, with newly diagnosed men appearing every day. Those are the people I can best relate to and share experiences with.

All good. Take care. Be well.

    Thanks Everyone!

MK1965 I remember every detail of what you went thru, and I hope that you have overcome the resentment that you felt for so long.

Old Salt - yes, the data loss probably contributed to my absence. I recovered the final chapter of my CSN blog from my Blogger archive, leaving my November entry with a February date (or something like that). After that my emotional state, i.e., acceptance of my situation, convinced me that the best thing to do was avoid participating in PCa forums where possible (while at the same time being administrator of one such forum and several FB groups).

Max Former Hodgkins - thoughts have wings. As mentioned, by coincidence I returned four years to the day. One phrase from your bio I've found so true and have repeated myself often in other groups... "You will never be the same after diagnosis, even if you go straight in to complete remission and remain there for years. You will never be the same."

Grinder, Vascoda - good to see you still here helping others.

Josephg - your posts were a tremendous help when I was forced to decide on getting the AUS.

ASA - yes, we've crossed paths frequently in cyberspace. I am only in a couple of FB PCa groups as I tend to get back into a funk if I dwell too much on what has happened. I now tend to read and post more in groups devoted to otherr cancers for which I've had to become a quick study.

Hope I haven't left anyone out. I suspect that I will be an infrequent visitor here, but thank you all for the warm welcome back!

Another year has nearly gone by. Conditions have improved. Both of my sons are in full remission and my wife's lymphoma is low grade and she is on watch and wait. I have continued issues with my AUS but still working on that (don't want any more surgeries as long as covid is still affecting the hospitals). Thank you all!

Thanks for your post; glad to see that some of the many medical issues that you and your extended family faced have improved.

Hoping for further positive input in the not-too-distant future.
