New Here and Very Frustrated with Kaiser Permanente

So to make long story short going on my second D&C in 3 year. Last one was negative for cancer had pendunculated fibroid or polyp removed in February 2019. Two years forward history of spotting and recent clotting and bleeding again and I am 55 and post menopausal. Had ultrasound last time and the stripe was enlarged or at least that is what radiology called it. Had another one and here is the report: Uterus measures 5.4x4.2x10.5 cm small exophytic subserosal fibroid seen in posterior wall of mid uterine body measuring 1.1x0.9x1.0 cm. Endometrium measures 13.4 mm. Canal appears mildly heterogeneous with fluid vocally at the fund us. No nodules or vascular it's. RIgbo Adnexa: R ovary normal measuring 2.4x2.1x1.4 cm. Left Adnexa: L ovary not seen. No mass. Fluid none. Having another D&C March 12 have clear discharge bloating and pelvic pain. Had fertility issues and treatments in my 30's . Doctor wanted to do pipelle I said no way unless you sedate. Pap was normal, mom had hysterectomy due to what was billed as precancerous lesions at 42 . And of course my 2019 TVU is no where to be found in my chart which shows a thickened stripe.

I'm not sure where you live.

I'm not sure where you live. I lived in DC area and was very happy with Kaiser. I had biopsy, which I would never recommend and wish I had a d&c instead,  but it did show cancer. I was 3a, and had chemo and radiation after hysterectomy. Pre Kaiser my previous dr wouldn't do anything in spite of bleeding I was experiencing so I was glad Kaiser took it serious. I was same age as you at diagnosis.

What are you upset with Kaiser about? I found my drs very responsive, particularly through email.

    Upset that they are hiding

Upset that they are hiding previous TVU radiology report from 2019, which showed thickening. This OnGyn is very nice, but I can't help but wonder if something wasn't missed from the last time.

    Hi Sassy

If you want to see your previous US report you can request a copy from the facility that did the exam.   If Kaiser, then you can request a copy of your records.  I hope you get some answers

    D&C/hysteroscopy

Probably because I've worked in information management for my whole career, I've always asked for a copy of every test or report when I've had a procedure performed. While the more recent reports were also available online for several years, the older reports disappeared from the online system a couple of years ago when my hospital system changed medical records systems. I'm assuming that the older reports are still available to the doctors, but I'm glad that I kept my own copies.

I recently wrote about my two experiences with post-menopausal bleeding at https://csn.cancer.org/node/322953

I had more of a gap between these two incidents than you have had. But I see that my ultrasound from 2007 also indicated a thickening of the endometrial stripe, although I didn't have cancer at that time. My cancer in 2016 was unrelated to the earlier incident.

I'm glad you're having a D&C next month. I'm happy that I had a D&C for both of my bleeding incidents as they can be more definitive than a biopsy.

Let us know how things go next month or ask any other questions you might have before then.

    If you haven't already, sign

If you haven't already, sign up for Kaiser online access or use the app. Under health records thete is a section on test results. There the results of things like blood tests, biopsies, scans, etc are posted there.  Unless it was done at an outside facility your results should be on there. If not, email your dr and ask for it. Most of my drs have been wonderful but I did have one that didn't usually post results. I always emailed her and now I am getting the test results without asking.
