Can chemo cause swollen lymph nodes ?
Can chemo cause swollen lymph nodes a year after chemo ? My dad was having pain where he had a hernia repaired they did ultrasound . My dad's PD told him he has swollen lymph nodes there and that its from chemo so I am wondering could that happen a year later . Or could this mean my dad has cancer in his lymph nodes which would mean it's spread I think ?

I don’t know
I don't know but hopefully someone on here does and hopefully you get some input soon. You and your dad are always in my prayers and I'm wishing you both well.

Lymphadenopathy
Lymphadenopathy is the term if you want to do research. I dont know if chemo can cause that at all or a year later. I had oncology the last 2 weeks and yeah I wasnt paying attention on purpose.
I know after breast cancer surgeries are swollen arms possible because of the removal of the lymph nodes and the flow of lymph not working. Your dad is after surgery in this area, right? Maybe the surgery caused that? Maybe he has an infection? Not every swollen lymphnode means cancer. But maybe it is good to check it out or talk with the oncologist or radiologist about it? Especially to calm down your mind.

Yes he had surgery in september and he had a UTI about a month ago and I called the oncologist to inform him . The nurse didn't seem worried said we would see at my dad's pet scan in Feb so I guess that's that and I will for sure look up lymphadenopathy thanks .

Haven't heard of that so far
Haven't heard of that so far out from chemo but have heard they can be swollen from inflammation due to surgery itself and infection. How's his CRP, LDH, ALP, WBC's, neutrophils and iron?

Addiotional markers in blood for inflammation are also ESR, hemoglobin and MCV (to look for iron, based on the red blood cells you can check if there is an underlying inflammation, iron itself is rarely measured especially because MCV and hemoglobin are enough to diagnose).
