Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma
I just had surgery to remove my appendix. The doctor called and said the pathology report came back that I have Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma. An extremely rare form of cancer. The tumor was hidden in my appendix. I'm now scheduled to have surgery to remove a good portion of my right colon so they can check the lymph nodes. My CT chest scan came back good. All my bloodwork came back good and my tumor markers were good. There just isnt' any info out there about this cancer or how to fight it. I'm worried my oncologist wont know enough about it. I'm taking one day at a time and am blessed my numbers are all good so far - but people are saying this is a highly agressive form of cancer. Any insight is appreciated by someone who's either gone through it or is going through it. I don't want chemo. Thanks

I am sorry you find yourself here. It's the club nobody wants to join.
This is a very old thread - 2011 - May I suggest you start a brand new thread, and then folks can introduce themselves to you and share their expereinces.

We do have members who have had appendix Cancer, though I confess, I have not ever heard of Goblet Cell Adenocarcinoma.

Welcome
I'm sorry that you have to be hear. Although I'm not able to help you with your question, there are a couple of people that have had appendix cancer on this board, but I'm not sure it was the same as yours. Wishing you both well.

Appendix Cancer
I'm a 14 year survivor of Appendix cancer. First and foremost, get yourselves to Appendix Cancer specialists before any more surgery. You may have to travel. I do. But without proper treatment, your risks are increased. Colorectal specialists, if not appendix cancer experts, will treat it as a variant of colon cancer. However, appendix cancer needs variations of the treatments, usually including some form of Intraperitoneal Chemo (HIPEC or EPIC).
There are some excellent support groups with lots of information on FaceBook. These are worth looking into.
PM me for more info.
