Clear Blisters on Roof of mouth

in Head and Neck Cancer #1

I don't think I've posted my story on here , but have posted some on other threads. I was diagnosed with SCC of the left tonsil, with local metastasis to a lymph node. I just finished 6 Cisplatin and 33 rads. I just finished my last Radiation this past Wednesday. I used Helios, and did the rest of what the Drs suggested with mouth washes and such. I so far have avoided the feeding tube and am starting to eat smaller solids. My Drs are pretty surprised at the progress I'm making. My throat is sore. I went through the times of ulcers and thrush but still pushed through with magic mouthwash and lidocaine to eat. I actually gained 4 lbs my last week of treatment because I feared the tube being threatened. I am having the thick mucus issue now, and cannot wait to get this gone, although, it isn't as bad as I have heard from others.

One thing I have searched for on here and have not found much on is clear water blisters on the roof of my mouth while eating. I did some research on it and talked with my encologist and have came to the conclusion that they are called superficial oral mucoceles. Basically it is saliva, finding new ways to get out because the saliva ducts are damaged. Has anyone ever experienced these, and did they go away over time?

    I had these...

    They'd just appear over the course of an hour.  They were a little painful but I could just pop them most of the time with my tongue or with a finger and then they would instantly feel better.  I also had them like the last week of radiation to maybe 2 weeks out.  Stopped getting them as quickly as they started.

    Thanks, that gives me some hope. They are aggravating more than painful to me. Glad they go away though.

    I seem to recall my girlfriend mixing up a mouthwash of baking soda and salt in water. I used it a few times a day - and it seem to help with some "blisters"(?) I had in the roof of my mouth.

    They were just temporary.
