Ok so I am 8 years out! I’ve had 2 surgeries on my lung because of recurrence from UPSC ! I have also had radiation at the beginning and 2 sets of chemo! Carbo and Paclitaxol. I am suppose to start Lynparza because o have an mutation in my BRCA sequence. I’m not necessarily BRCA positive! Probably from chemo! I am afraid of side effects from it!  I have been doing homeopathic medicine for awhile! Also essential oils I’m not sure what to do!! It’s so hard to make a decision!? Tami Ayers Erie Pa

Hello Tami.  I know this is an old post and I hope this finds you doing well.  I was just wondering if you decided to do the Lynparza or not?  I'd also like to know what homeopathic medicine you were or are using.   My doctor is also recommending Lynparza and I too am having difficulty making a decicsion.

    God Bless You

    Nora,

Tami hasn't been on the board since 2019, so unfortunately, she probably won't see your question.

I'm sorry you haven't gotten a response to your original post on Ovarian board regarding Lynparza. PARP inhibitors are more frequently prescribed for ovarian versus uterine cancer, so I was hoping someone from that board would share their experience with you.

In the meantime, however, please feel free to continue posting on this Uterine board as you have your second opinion next week. There are a few of us with carcinosarcoma who are currently posting on this board. In addition, there are many other women with different, but equally aggressive types of cancer.

I'm also including a link to your original post on the Ovarian board as not everyone on the Uterine board reads those posts. But you gave a lot of good information in your first post, especially considering this is the second cancer you've had to deal with recently.

I did see this relatively current article about PARP inhibitors at:

    https://www.cancer.gov/news-events/cancer-currents-blog/2019/parp-inhibitors-ovarian-cancer-initial-treatment

Let us know how your appointment with Stanford goes next week.

    Good news indeed!

Thanks, NoTime, for the update on Tami. We always hope that when someone stops posting it's because they've moved on with their life, but it's great to get confirmation.
