Mom update
My mom was diagnosed in 2015 stage 2, treated with standard protocol. Was well until 2017, went for scans and was found to have a recurrence. had an apr colostomy in spring of 2017, doing great until spring of 2019 was having issues with urine and urgency, another recurrnece to the vaginal wall. Her doctors put her on chemotherapy for the next year fast forward to April of 2020, tumor slightly larger, team decided to radiate again since it had been 5 years. scans last week show good news the tumor and lymph nodes have shrunk significantly dr is very pleased. But since radiation she has been experincing on and off hip pain, mri shows a nodule on the hip, radiologist and oncology don't belileave it's cancerous, but a pet scan next week to be sure. For anyone new here please don't see my moms story as negative, everyone is so different and the standard treatment is successful in most cases! I want to add my mom still lives a fullfilling life , working full time, activities with family, until recently vacations! hope everyone is doing well!
