I had an MRI on Saturday. Scheduling issues caused me to have the doctor's visit today.

I had to wait an hour and 1/2 in the office. I wear a fitbit and my heart rate was 3,205 after an hour. They'd already verified via the BP machine that I was having a heart attack. I was breathing harder than Trump on the WH stairs.

Finally the doctor came in (I'd seen the resident already and two nurses). Very casual. "How've you been? Eating well?"

I could relax. If there was a problem, he'd have led with it. "No new tumors," he said.

I might buy some jeans.

    I totally feel for you!

I totally feel for you! Waiting for scan results is the WORST! I don't know what my heart rate was, but the last time I had scan results, I was seen 2 hours late and before he could even tell me the results I went off about how long I waited :)  Glad all is well!

    My last oncologist would tell

My last oncologist would tell me the good news, and then as I was breathing a sigh of relief, tell me the devasting news, so I basically have scanxiety every time now :) And it upsets my current one because he tells me good news, then I jut sit there solemn faced waiting for the bad news, so he always says, smile, it is good news!

    Buy two pairs

or a T to go with the jeans.

You deserve it after waiting that long in an office.

I used to have a GP who was chroniclly late. Once I watched the whole Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring, movie; and that is over three hours.  Luckily I didn't go see him often, and I would have dropped him like a hot brick if he hadn't been such a good Docotr.

Well, that was all about me, wasn't it.

Enjoy your shopping trip AND your 'no new tumours'.

Buy those jeans and a jacket to go with it.  Great news on the scan.

    Conngrats on the results. I

Conngrats on the results. I practiced mindfulness hard on those days, then cheated with a Xanax to double up, and it was still quite a thing. I actually preferred phone calls to face to face stuff, because of the whole driving to the med. center, being escorted into a little room with no windows, and waiting, was such a build up of tension. I'm busy when the phone call comes, hear immediately what I need to here, than react however, whether that was cracking a beer, or setting out on a long walk, or working harder to wear my tension away. It was just easier for me that way.............................................Dave

    They probably like the drama.

They probably like the drama. I imagine that they are not really seeing other patients while we are waiting in the exam room, they are watching us on a secret monitor, laughing at the look on our faces! Laughing

I agree about the phone calls. I was shopping for meat to grill when I got the news I was stage 4. We had that conversation five feet away from the deli counter. It was a memorable shopping trip.

    Congratulations!  That's

Congratulations!  That's great news!  Most people don't understand scanxiety.  Even my family who have been with me through this whole ordeal don't quite grasp it.  It's so nice having this forum when we need it.
