I'm going to be new here
I'm just reading posts and yours is new. Waiting for more biopsies on Monday, but I already know the ones on left breast are cancer.
Did you have a recurrence or is it a new cancer? I had uterine cancer last year and it was aggressive but I was given a stage 1A and only had three radiations. Gotta get brave again.

A New Cancer
Pat, I DO remember you. You have had a rougher road than most. I am sorry that you have been diagnosed with Peritoneal Cancer. Have the doctors come up with a treatment plan for you yet? As always, we are here as a virtual shoulder to lean on. I wish you the best of luck in these chaotic times.

But I'm here if you need to talk. What kind of cancers have you had besides breast and peritoneal? Or is it only two that metastized?
I'm sad you've had to walk this difficult road. Hugs.

Thanks for asking about me. I finished 16 rounds of chemotherapy in August 2011. I then followed up with 2 reconstruction surgeries. I have been in complete remission since I finished treatment. I have a mammogram on my remaining breast once a year and visit my oncologist once a year as well. I have been fortunate - especially since I had TNBC (Triple Negative Breast Cancer). I only wish others could follow a similar path.

Ppurdin,
I feel like I may follow your path. I originally had breast cancer in 2008; had a lumpectomy, was put on Tamoxifen. 2013 I was diagnosed with matastized breast cancer on my liver, stage iv. I was on experimental meds until it started messing with my kidneys, then just took Letrozole until June 2020. I had been labeled as Stable Remission until a CT scan showed that the tumor had grown and was in my chest area. In July I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, stage iii 2b, and had a hysterectomy. Now I will be receiving radiation and chemo. I had a postaortic lymph node removed also.
I pray that you will fare well in your surgery. I hope to have the courage you do. I already feel I may be fighting these battles for a while.

You have been put through so much. I'm so sorry. I hope you can get treatment and go into remission as you had done before.
Praying for you.

I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in April what a shock to my system. Mine is a stage one had a lumpectomy. Having to go through 6 months of Chemo then radiation. My question is how long did it take you to get your hair to grow back? What other side effects did you have? I think I'm going through all of them.

I had triple negative in 1999 and was treated with lumpectomies, chemo and radiation. It took 6 months for my hair to grow back after chemo to be at fashionable enough short length.
Unfortunately I was just diagnosed again in 2023 after 24 years being cancer free, with TN again but also in one lymph node so am on very aggressive weekly chemo for 6 months. I'll have surgery and continue on immunotherapy in 2024.
I prefer to wear a cute short wig and amazingly get lots of compliments on my hair! I am hopeful it will grow back as it did last time, but I'm 24 years older.
Wearing a wig or head covering is a personal choice based on what you prefer. If you opt for a wig, I can share more about that too.
