Thank you for all your comforting words

Thank you for everyone thinking of me during this most difficult time in my life.  Tears are running down my face as I read your responses and all the love and care and heartfelt emotions that you were giving to me.   I can't even tell you how much that meant to me.

My husband ended up with double sepis after a failed procedure.  He ended in the hospital and although he came home they sent him home on hospice.  We were lucky in a way because two days later is when the shut down began.  If he was in pallative care or still in the hospital I would not have been able to see him.  I took care of him for 2 months and at times it seemed like he was going to beat it.  But the weight loss was and him not eating was just too much.  I know he wanted to try to make it for our son's wedding on June 27th but he also didn't want to be so frail either.  It was hard not having any family or friends being able to come see him.  Although he didn't want to see anyone anyway in his condition.  He passed peacefully at home with my sons and daughter in law around him.  He lived life large and so I know he would want us all to do the same.

Giving you all the hugs that I can.

Love you all!

Kathy (Kaleena)

    My Condolences

    Kaleena,

Even when we know the end for a loved one is near; the actual loss isn't any less heartbreaking. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. And I'm thankful that your husband was able to be at home with you, even though visits from other family members and friends were restricted during his final weeks. A peaceful end with family close by is the best that any of us can hope for after such a long and difficult struggle. I know that your devoted care made that possible.

    Hi, Kaleena

    Hi, Kaleena

I'm so glad you felt up to dropping by again to tell us how you are doing. It hasn't been that long, but I'm sure it feels like it's been forever already.

How your husband felt about people seeing him at the end and being weak at your son's wedding makes so much sense to me. Who wants people's last memories of you to be at your lowest point? The memories of the good times had with him are what he wants to be remembered by and what will make thinking about him happy thoughts that can lift you when you're missing him.

    Sending a ((Hug))

    Pat

    Very Sorry For Your Loss

Kaleena, I'm very sorry for the loss of your wonderful husband.  It was a blessing that he was able to be home with you by his side, rather than spending his last months in the hospital.

    Dear Kathy

    I'm so sorry, dear Kathy.

When I came over to this board, I remember reading your posts about your cancer journey and ocassionally I would go to other boards to read about other cancers and I would find you asking questions to help your husband.

I remember you helping me, too, when I came here for my uterine cancer.

May you have peace while you go through these trying times. Sending you hugs.

When I first saw your sad news, I had had rotator cuff surgery and typing was not on my list of capabilities.  Please know that I am sorry and have been praying for you since reading of your loss.
