Cyst question
I had a 2.5cm tumor removed in 2017. also a 4mm simple cyst since the beginning of my journey.
this year the images showed it to be 6mm And classified as stable. i asked my doctor and she said it's most likely
the was the ct scans were cut. My question is, is it normal for a simple cyst to grow or should I be concerned? Thank you in advance.

I have one of those
In fact, according to my doctor, simple cysts are pretty normal. I have one in the center of my left kidney that has grown a little over the years. My doctors just don't seem concerned about it. I asked one time if they go in and drain the fluid so they go away. I was told that occasionally the body reabsorbs the fluid in the cyst. Other times it can burst--which is very painful (according to my doctor). Most of the time though they stay relatively stable. They get concerned is if the cyst wall starts to thicken or the fluid in the middle looks to harden.
I'd encourage you to visit with your doctor and have him/her provide you with a more detailed explanation.
Good luck!

I wish this was true in my case
I had a CT scan in Jan this year for an unrelated issue and they found a 2 CM cyst in my kidney. I was told it was just liquid and we were going to monitor it as I guess this is the standard protocol,
They set me up for an appointment 9 months down the road but in June I started urinating blood...it was like blood pudding coming out of me and it was painful like trying to pass a kidney stone. I went to the
emergency room and they placed a cathitor in me so I would'nt get stopped up by this blood pudding type clots. I just now getting ready to start taking Sutent as over the past 1 1/2 months of testing I have stage 4 renal cell carcinoma.
I am only 55 and pissed. Yes, a cyst in Jan and 6 months later I have stage 4 kidney cancer. I am at 8 1/2 cm x 5 cm. All I can say is take this serious. Maybe I am the exception or just flat unlucky. If you ever pee blood dont hesitate!
Good luck!

Just had my annual ultrasound....cyst is growing
Long time member but I havent been on the forum for awhile. I just had my annual scan and a simple cyst in my left kidney (read remaining kidney) has now achieved 2.1 cm up from 1.4cm last year. My nephrectomy for RCC was in 2013. I was stage 1 with baseball sized tumour on top of right kidney. At the time there was a sub 1cm cyst on left kidney. It has been slowly growing until this year it seems to have accelerated in growth. I havent met with my Dr. yet, but as posted above they have been telling me for years...no big deal. Starting to wonder about that.

I had a complex cyst removed
I had a complex cyst removed in 2018. A 3cm part cyst part cancer Snowman shaped. Love that snowman shaped. haha Have been doing fine since. They found it in 2016 but due to colon cancer they wanted to watch and wait. It was 2cm when first discovered on ct scan.
