in Colorectal Cancer #1

Hello all!   I joined in May 2013 and went straight into the battle against colon cancer- restaged 3C.   I have not checked in here for quite some time but hold all fellow fighters and survivors in my thoughts, prayers, and heart.  

If you are just beginning this journey, stay strong, be brave, and know that at this very moment, you have life.  Keep fighting. 

If you were here when I joined, yay us!!!!   Though I wasn't vocal often (I had difficulty with expression during treatments), you all were so vital to my life force.  Thank you!

I am now 7 years NED.  I have been busy loving on my children (5), a new granddaughter, hiking and MTBing as often as possible, and just inhaling all that this wonderful world has to offer. Work also keeps me very busy as I am a nurse specialized in geriatrics with an emphasis on dementia.   I count my many blessings every morning when my eyes open once again.  

As I have said, you all are in my thoughts and as I have been reflecting on this journey of my life, I would love a shout out from each of you.  How you are doing, years NED, or just hello.

    I joined this forum January 1st 2013 after a Nov 2012 diagnosis. 

    Stage IV and about to celebrate SIX years NED on April 24th.

    Hi MC5!! I've been here since August '13, though I followed on and off without comment from early '08. Stage 3b w  two liver recurrances, 5 1/2 years NED. I'm happy to hear another long-time voice, an awful lot have been silenced from then to now. Keep on trucking!!!!!.......................................Dave

    It's so good to hear that you are NED 7 years later.  What a wonderful milestone.  I'm still NED 11 years after joining in February 2009.  This site was such an inspiration for me.  So glad that you are out there living life.  Wishing you continued health and thank you so much for the update as it's great to hear of long time survivors.

    Yes, hearing from other long time survivors is so heart warming and also, I would think, uplifting to those still in the trenches.  I remember hearing here time and time again "just keep swimming" and to me, that was so simple but powerful.  

    Congratulations on 11 years and best wishes for many many more.

    I would like to say hello and say I am stage four and have survived four re occurrences... I joined in 2006 and I am still going...keep going...mags

    8 years cancer free here!

    I rarely check in here anymore but did when I was going thru treatments 8 years ago. I decided to check in today because I'm worried about the warriors fearing the Corona Virus. Stay strong!

    Did you mean survivors who were old like me(sonn to be 88) or those who have bn mmbers for quite a while?

    I count on either meaning since I joined in April of 2013.  LOL

    Don't like restrictions caused by Virus but have no choice living in a home for seniors.   Seems like being in jail, only with very nice accomodations and no gards. LOL some more!!

    Hi Everyone,

    I joined in 2012.  I was a stage 3 signet cell colon cancer patient.  I am now 8 years NED.  Some days I just cannot believe that.

    For newcomers - sorry you are here but this forum will help you with just about everything.  We have all been through some much and there is always someone to share or just listen.  This site got me through some very scary and dark times.
