Mixed Epithelial Carcinoma - rare?

Hello friends,

I have a mixed epithelial carcinoma  (stage 1A, already removed) and my surgeon told me it was rather rare but didnt give me any additional information, other than recommending 6 rounds of chemo. He didn't seem particularly concerned since we caught it so early and we left it at that.

I had a relative ask me for more info on my tumor type and it got me back to researching. And I find very little. From what I've read it only comprises about 4% of ovarina cancers but that's about it.

Anyone else know more about this? i can provide the mix percentages if that helps any. I'd like more information but also if I could be of use in any studies?

Any information would be great!

Thanks in advance,

Charity

    Charity, the National

Charity, the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) lists current standard of care etc. and will mention those rare cancers as part of the treatment.  www.nccn.org

ClinicalTrials.org gives more of open trials that are out there and being conducted.

"Rare" is tough.  Truly you feel like an 'orphan' at times.
