Gosh yes, a pillow would have

Gosh yes, a pillow would have been nice earlier today.  My son is packing for a cruise next week so I was telling him to eat over his plate, don't have gravy or spaghetti (ya know just kidding with him about dribbling on his shirt) and my husband said in his Seinfeld voice "and no marinara for you"...I cracked up over that and it hurt!!!!

    LOL

LOL.  I tried to be cheerful after the surgery, but man, laughing really hurt.  Hopefully this will soon be an experience in the rearview mirror.

they didn't give you a binder

they didn't give you a binder? Did they teach you how to roll up on your arm so as not to use your abdomen when you get out of bed

    Binder

They never gave me a binder after surgery, only after hernia surgery.  It would have hurt like heck with me with a binder after my surgery as my whole stomach was cut and even hurt to wear loose PJ bottoms.

i don't know what that is.

i don't know what that is.  They never mentioned a binder,  Like Kim, I had open surgery.  35 staples in my abdomen.  Maybe thats why it wasnt offered? idk, but I do know it hurts to move wrong or to fast and to laugh...whew!

Oh, I was cut all up my belly

Oh, I was cut all up my belly too. I know it seems counter intuitive but the binder made it better. And all those things that you mentioned hurting, the binder makes hurt less. For me, it felt like it was just keeping everything in place. And it isn't like the way pjs or zippered pants feel because it covers whole torso. I woke up with it on after surgery.
