    Update

    Hello everyone.  It has been awhile since we've given you an update but everything is going well and now round 5 starts tomorrow.  Side effects of the R-B are consistently the same but longer after each round.  We know what to expect and have learned to prepare better.  The good news is the treatment is working and the bloodwork looks good.  We are looking forward to having it over with by the end of February.  Then move to the next phase of trying to get back to feeling better.  We hope everyone is doing well and we want to thank you for all the information that you have provided.  It has helped make the process more understandable and thus predictable.

    Prednisone

    I completed treatment for Non-Hodgkins in Nov of 2019 and am now in remission. I took prednisone during each cycle of treatmen. I had some swelling around the ankles, which I kept minimal by limiting salt, and keeping my feet up when resting. Near the end of my treatment, I had facial flushing with warm cheeks, but no fever, due to the prednisone. It came in the evening and was gone in the morning. My biggest issue was constipation due to the chemo and other medications. To manage this, I began taking Miralax and Metamucil two days before each treatment and during the week of treatment at double the dosage I was taking otherwise. Thankfully not everyone has this issue. I have had two echocardiograms, PET scans and other tests of course. My heart has been strong with no issues.

    The lymphoma was discovered due to seeking treatment for a backache. I noticed others were diagnosed due to the same issuse.

    Side effects

    I learned after my first treatment to start taking the stool softner the night before the treatment.

    My lymphoma was found when I told my dr about 2 IBS attacks that weren't like the ones I usually get. She checked my abdomen and found a mass which led to the lymphoma diagnosis.I have been in remission 5 years now.
