A Christmas Blessings Invite Post For All CSN Folks
To join on this post and send Christmas Blessings and Thanks to H & N members or anyone else you may have on your heart. Or you can just say what you are thankful for during this Christmas season. I want to thank my wife #1 as she watches over me and takes care of me, knows when I am weak and strengthens me, stands by my side through thick & thin, takes care of the many details that need to be attended to, loves me dearly and somehow keeps a positive attitude through it all. Also a tribute to my family who was there for me helping all they could. I am thankful for all the folks here on CSN who are always there with good advice or a comforting word sometimes just a helpful word or uplifting comment even through a private message when we need it most. Our group of H & N Folks truly understands what we are all going through. I am also thankful for friends that drove us to the hospital for surgeries and appointments and let us know they cared about us. They also reminded us-” if you need anything don’t hesitate to call”. I am also thankful for the hospitals and advanced medicine we have and the many doctors, surgeons, nurses, care aides, visiting nurses, at-home aids and many others in the hospital and rehab facility for getting me through the most difficult time in my life-Blessings to them. I am also especially thankful for friends, family, strangers, whole churches and many others including many folks here on CSN that prayed for me and encouraged me and people I don’t even know of that prayed continually for us it was a great blessing. So I would like to say to all here on CSN Thank You-Take Care-God Bless and remember the real reason for this season the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior.
Sorry I made this a little long-God bless

I found my way back here
Russell
While we are on the H&N theme I would like to say I am thankful that my taste buds recovered to where they are today, which is quite good! I was always confidant that my taste buds would return, but I had a 7 month stint of smoothies, assorted drinks, extremely small helpings of normal food. It has now been almost 8 years (in 3 months) and I love to eat and I do eat. So as not to kill my buzz, it might be easier and faster to mention what I have difficulty with i.e. spicy (hot) food. I still like pop, but it is so potent to drink, it really is fizzy going down my throat.
I do love ice cream and eat it all the time. Pre-cancer I did not like cookie dough ice cream and now I love it, Go figure.
There are some members who say they got all their taste and saliva back almost immediately post-cancer (I used to think they must not of had the reads turned on). There are other members I know who’s ability to taste did not return and for them I feel sorry, because it is fun to enjoy your food and I wish them the best and to keep trying different foods. I never gave up and my taste buds are different but ok.
Merry Christmas to all H&N members!
Matt

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL!
I am still around 3+ years after my operation and radiation treatment. My cancer did quite a number on my neck so taste buds aren't 100% and never will be, plus having my major salavary gland removed has left quite the salty taste in my mouth. Do not like salty food as the salt taste is amplified with my salty saliva!
Anyway, we have all gone thru our own cancer journey and some still are at the start of it. So my wish is that each and eveyone of you, and your families/loved ones, only find themselves in a healthier place this New Year.
Merry Christmas eveyone and a very Happy and HEALTHY New Year!

Giving Thanks
Nice idea for a post. I have so much to be grateful for it's hard to mention only a few. Mostly just being alive knowing so many others have passed before me. My health is still good so every day I say thanks. My wife for putting up with me. And all of you who supported me through the tough times even though you too may have been suffering at the same time.

Thankful
In a serious note (Minus my joking to which I do all the time)
I am thaankful for still being on this great earth after battling cancer three times now. I am very thankful for my wife, family and friends who helped me through all the hurdles in my battles and gave me the kick in the butt I needed to push forward. I am thankful that God has helped stay positive in accepting the changes my life has gone through while having knowledge of others having trouble accepting their changes.
My sister reminded me what My surgeon said two days befoe my surgery. You will go through hell this Christmas so you can enjoy many more to come.
Merry Christmas
Enjoy the day.......I do......Every one of them

To everyone on H&N
We've all experienced the cruelty of tx for H&N, emerged from that tunnel of darkness and pain into new normals and beautiful days of life, and been here on the Forum to help each other with answers and info, and other support. For me, personally, this is so very true, dating back to 2009 with Delnative and Tim/Hondo and Dawn and Skiffin- to now with Matt and everyone else currently active. So, THANK YOU and MERRY CHRISTMAS, and HAPPY HOLIDAYS.

Three years ago this time, I
Three years ago this time, I was in the middle of my second round of treatments and I'm very grateful I'm still here. Time seems to go so much faster after cancer. Merry Christmas to all my fellow survivors and a healthy and cancer-free new year!
