Best Health Insurance
Thank you all for your advice on my previous post regarding my mother in law that we think might have some sort of throat cancer and no health insurance. She is seeing the ENT in a week and will be paying for that appointment out of pocket. She is looking at Obamacare plans currently, but that won't kick in until 1/1/20. With the belief that she will be diagnosed with cancer, what type of plan would be the best for the next treatment steps? Thank you!

Obamacare?
Forget Obamacare when it comes to C. C is one of the reasons it failed: they can't deny coverage based on a pre-existing, but they can charge you whatever they want to make it prohibitive. Typical for C Patients was a $3,000/month premium. There was a lot of talk about that way back when, and all to the negative. Sorry.
Would she qualify for Medicaid? Income has to be below a certain level, and I don't know what time frame they take into consideration- but, if she does, I think her treatment will be extremely cheap. Negative might be where they'll accept Medicaid. Had a relative who had to go that route, and think he started at the Social Security Office.

I am thankful
She is getting it checked and am praying it is something like an infection or something else, not cancer. At least you will know. No matter what it is the longer it goes will not make it better. I would call your local hospital and see if they can guide you somewhere for insurance or financial support. Her health is No. 1 you will find a way. God Bless-Prayers your way
