Hello ladies! Just wanted to check in and let you know that I am now two days post op. They did end up taking both ovaries both fallopian tube's cervix and uterus and they did actually take nodes.  I am assuming that nodes were taken because the frozen section was positive. I know Have to wait for the final pathology for any clear answers. The good news is is that I am feeling better each day and I don't regret my decision for a second. I will continue to keep you guys updated once I get my full pathology back.

Hello Ladies!!  The fog is lifting.....Final Pathology Report is in.....despite my doctor being on vacation and the office staff telling me I would have to wait until 11/25 (my follow up appointment) to receive my report!

I went down to the hospital and had my results within 5 minutes......it really shouldn't be this difficult for a patient to receive their own report and it is certainly rude to expect a patient to wait over a month to find out if they had cancer.  Keeping in mind that I came out of anesthesia poorly and needed to be sedated - apparently I came out fighting so it is all a big blur - this information may have been conveyed to me but I was totally out of it!!  

I love my Doctor but I am not a fan of his staff.......

Results below:

1. Endometrial adenocarcinoma, endometriod type FIGO grade 1, limited to endometrium, arisingin association with polypoid EIN.
2. Cervix with chronic cervicitis and squamous metaplasia, negative for dysplasia and carcinoma
3. Serosa, bilateral fallopian tubes and ovaries with no specific pathologic changes, negative for carcinoma
4. Left Pelvic Lymph Nodes dissection - six - negative
5. Right Pelvic Lymph Node dissection - two - negative

Obviously this was the second best result desired!!  First being, no cancer, of course.  The relief I felt after receiving this information today is unexplainable and now I finally feel as though I can rest and start the healing process!!  

I am so grateful to all of you wonderful ladies for all of the support and well wishes!  I feel a million times better than I did yesterday and believe that I will fill even better tomorrow.  The bloating and swelling has finally disapaited and I have been off of pain meds since Saturday night.  I finally feel like I can breath and rest.  I have not been alone since my surgery - blessed beyond measure!!  Tomorrow will be my first day alone after my husband leaves for work and I am off work until 11/11!  I look forward to getting back to my normal self with a new focus on getting healthy and listening to my body.  I was able to see my accupunturist today and she will help me focus on healing my body!!  I am experiencing some neuropothy in my upper left thigh....Have any of you experienced this?  One last question.....upon follow ups, what should I expect?  Will they be scans or just pelvic exams???

I can't believe the office said you have to wait so long for pathology.  Good for. you not settling for that.   Great pathology report.  Thank you for coming back and sharing your good news.

I followed your journey and I am glad that you could finally get the results of your pathology report. I was diagnosed on July 2018 with stage 1A grade 1 endometrioid adenocarcinoma. My initial D&C was grade 2 but it was downgraded upon final pathology report.

I assume you had robotic surgery.  Did they take more than sentinel nodes? I wonder if the neuropathy on the left side could be related to more nodes taken from that side? But I also remember an achy pain on the left side only after my robotic surgery, so I agree with the other ladies.
Do they have results for pelvic wash and lymphovascular space invasion (LVI)?

Not positive about the wash....not sure it was done???  I will ask the Dr. at my follow up.  The LVI was "not identified" so I am assuming negative for carcinoma....but will double check.  Keep in mind, I am my own Dr. right now....I obtained my report on my own and am translating what I can identify.  I am pretty good at this after having been a part of too many people close to me with cancer!!  I am able to work my way through the report enough to know that I am in the clear and don't think that I will need further treatment other than follow ups to watch closely!!

 

for sure. I was getting every 4 months only pelvic check-ups and he now decided that he can see me every 6 months, which gives me a little more anxiety. Enjoy the moment!
