Had my three month surgeon visit
No new lesions in liver (or anywhere else). My previous 'maybe mets' (the ones that did not test positive on needle biopsy) have shrunk a little bit...but more importantly have NOT grown at all. CEA is really low. So this time I got a "come back in six months" DX from the surgeon. I will take it and run. No, it is not really an NED, and yes, it can come back before six months, or years later. But I am going to enjoy the next six months. My hope is that everyone gets some good news in their upcoming visits, be it surgical or chemotherapy. This last month has been hard, with so many friends passing. Janjan was the second person I communicated with here. F this disease.

Congratulations on the six-month reprieve. It seems like so many of us live our lives in these scan-to-scan intervals. Enjoy!

My last scan in December showed my one biopsy proven malignant lung nodule had decreased even more--a year post chemo--from original of 1.5cm down to 0.4--lung surgeon says its dead and body is breaking it down because it has been shrinking a year from chemo--other 3 nodules are completely unchanged from original diagnoses in March 2018. Am able to wait for 6 months to get rescanned now down from every 3months for last year and 1/2. But no where has any report ever said No evidence of disease--it has said No active disease, no active metabolic disease but never NED. Not going to quibble over verbiage--in my mind I am NED and going to enjoy every minute until the next scan!!

That is so interesting about it being dead and finally breaking down. When my recent scan showed mine were the same size, I told myself it could be that dead cancer cells are contributing to the size.
That is awesome for you. I get that NED is more comforting, but i am so happy for you at no active disease!
