Getting Cat Scan results since finishing treatment 4 months ago today....

Nervous....first check up with digital showed no tumor.  Now, today, getting results from cat scan taken 4 days ago.  Do you ever stop thinking and worrying about this?  Also been gettng biopsy of cervix.  Last one showed abnormal cells.  I asked if that might be because of pelvic radiation but gynocologist said no.  Getting another biopsy on the 10th and then possibly a LEEP procedure.  If it's not one thing, it's another.  My month has been filled with one appointment after another.  I guess it won't end until I do.  Hoping for good news today.

    Thank you mp327.  No new

Thank you mp327.  No new spots showed up on scan however he saw a mass on the opposite side or original tumor which was gone.  I have an appointment next week with doctor to check it out.  Hopefully it will only be scar tissue.  Very upsetting.  Glad no new spots showed up and my blood work numbers were good but nervous about this now.  It never seems to end.  Also gynocologist found precancerous cells in my cervix so dealing with that also.  Ugh.....All I can do at this moment is enjoy each day the best I can and not take it for granted.  Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good.  Much better than I felt 4 months ago.

Thank you for the update.  I'm glad your scan results showed no new spots and am hoping that the spot in question is, indeed, scar tissue.  Please keep us posted on that after you see your doctor, and also what the plan is for the cervix issues.  I'm glad that you are feeling good and enjoying life through all of this, which is really all you can do.  Take good care.

Thank you.  I've gone so many

Thank you.  I've gone so many years without getting check ups....making up for lost time now.  It seems like I have several appointments with different doctors every week now.  Hoping I can them all out of the way before the holidays.  Check, check, then check again.  Ugh.  At least one good thing...my hair has finally stopped falling out.  :)  If I had to do it all over again,  I would have cut it short to begin with so I would not have to have long strands falling out constantly.  Thankfully, my hair was thick to begin with so it's not too bad now.

What I did realize is that my cancer spot WAS on my left side, not the right like I thought.  So, having what might be scar tissue on the left side would make sense.  I panicked when I thought the spot in question was not where my cancer was.  I feel like such an idiot.  How could I have mixed that up?  Guess I was so shook up that I wasn't thinking straight.  Anyway, hoping it is just scar tissue.

I know how you feel about all of the appointments.  For many years I had appointments with several doctors and they seemed to never end.  In addition to having had cancer, I also have chronic kidney disease and hydrocephalus.  I also get checked yearly by a dermatologist, an osteoporosis specialist and a gynecologist.  It feels like I'm on a merry-go-round I can't get off of!  Fortunately, some of the appointments get further and further apart.

I'm so glad you realized where the spot in question is and it gives you some relief to know that it's not in a new location.  I'm thinking it's likely to be scar tissue.  Fingers crossed for you!

So you know how I'm feeling

So you know how I'm feeling with all these appointments.  You seem to have more than your share of them.  I just want to go on with my life before I'm too old to enjoy it anymore.  I guess I should be happy that I went in the first place and had the cancer treated.  If I didn't....I wouldn't have to worry about all these appointments because I wouldn't even be here anymore.  I'm looking foward to getting to the point where it is only an annual checkup.  Between me and my husband, these appointments seem to be our only social life. :)  Not to mention, whenever I go there is a $40 copay.  I think it should be ME getting that $40 for flashing my naked body! haha.

    Good News!

Had rectal check this morning.....looked good!  No signs of cancer!  No need for biopsy either.  He said he only does them if something looked suspicious.  Looked at the cat scan and said nothing there.  So, don't go back for another 3 months for check up.  Phew!  So far, so good!

    Thank you!

I am enjoying this moment.  Planned to work today but decided life is too short and took the morning off to go with my husband and our dog to see a dog parade/art/craft show.  Beautiful weather.  Still hesitant about eating out so brought home some delicious homemade Polish food for our lunch.
