Scar tissue
Hello,
I was on this forum a lot back in 2017. My husband was diagnosed with cancer of the head and neck with his left lymph node involved. He finished treatment in April of 2017. All has been well since then. His scans and scopes have been clear. When he received his last CT scans about two weeks ago the oncologist said all was clear But she noticed that one of his sinuses near the vocal cord was aysemitrical. In her words she was pretty positive that it was scar tissue She told my husband she wanted an ENT to take a closer look since she was scheduling him out for a year later. I am trying not to worry too much but it’s hard. Has anyone else had something similar?

Weve had plenty of issues
Weve had plenty of issues with scar tissue in various places and at various times. I'm sure the ENT will rest your worries. Good luck

MMDowns When Scanned
The docs will note anything on the scan. If it is just scar tissue and not causing you any problems I am not sure why they mention this stuff. Maybe they are just giving us a heads up in case we start noticing a problem starting such as your case of his sinuses near the vocal cord. Just to make us aware. The #1 thing is that his scans are clear of cancer Praise God and he has been clear in past checks and scans and that is what we are looking for our docs to say "Well everything looks rather Unremarkable you are still NED".

Thank you! I’m sure that is just it. It’s just so nerve racking when they want a second look. I know they are trying to be thorough and I do appreciate it. It’s just scary.

Yay!
So glad to hear all is well. I remember our husbands were going through this at the same time. My husband just passed his two year checkup today .
