visiting over here
I am visiting over here from the uterine cancer page. I have a friend and very close neighbor who is having surgery on this coming Monday. I'm not real clear on the details but they will be using a wire? She was diagnosed with an agressive form of cancer and we are all really hoping it has not gone into her lymph nodes. My question is, what are some things that are helpful right sfter this kind of surgery? I want to help her all I can. I just finished my chemo in Feb. so if she will have to have chemo in the future I can help her some with that I think. I just don't know about modern breast surgery. My Mom passed away from breast cancer, but that was 53 years ago and things have changed since then for sure.

Wire
When I had my surgery, they used a guide wire for the surgeon. It was just a wire they put in with the aid of a ultrasound to the tumor. When I had my biopsy they put a clip in so that when I was finished with chemo they could find where the tumor was to put the wire in for the surgeon. I hope all goes well for your friend. We are here for her and for you.
