Been awhile actually a long while since I last posted. I'm down to my last Rituxan treatment .Finished 12th one today 1 more to go in August. My latest CT scans show NED....My insurance has fought all scans for past 18 months so wasn't really sure how this was going to turn out, I just put everything in the hands of the good lord above. The Dr told me today that prognosis looks really good since I'm at the 2 yr mark of my Pet Scan that was August 2017.... I really just want to thank all of you for your help/advice I received along the way.! I still follow this site quite often and wish everyone the very best....I don't think I could have made it this far without all of you....I don't see Dr for Six months in December so if anyone has finished the Rituxan Maintenance and has any info or tips on what to expect I'm all ears and thanks again for being here for me.....

    Hi Lillian,

    Great to hear from you. Congratulations on reaching that milestones and thanks for sharing your good news.

    I had my last maintenance Ritux in April 2018 and have been on a semestrial follow-up routine since. There is not much to expect, really. Your blood levels should normalize progressively, and any side effects (in your case, vasculitis if I remember correctly) should also subside over the course of the next few months. The monoclonal antibody will persist in your system for quite a long time, so you should continue to be covered againt recurrence. Together with the periodic monitoring, that should afford you some peace of mind during your recovery.

    Hi Lillian,

      I was so happy when I finished my 2 year maintenance of Rituxan, so I know you must be too. Congratulations!! For me, it marked the time when I could finally move forward and put cancer on a back burner. The first year my doctor had me come in every 6 months for a scan, blood work, and check up. The following year it was still 6 months check up and blood work, but only once a year for a scan. I left my port in, just in case I relapsed, and only had it removed last year. It worked perfectly for 8 years. I did relapse in 2016 and had to get Rituxan once a week for a month, but it shrunk my tumor and have not had any since. Enjoy this happy time and good luck for continued NED. Much love....Sue
