Sometimes ya gotta be the squeaky wheel
I am getting a scan on the 21st. I see online, they schedule an appt for results on the 1st. So I called and said, YOU EXPECT ME TO WAIT 11 DAYS FOR MY RESULTS!?!
So, results are now on the 27th. Not much better, but better.
This is the same secretary who would schedule my appts and not actually put in system, so I would go in, and be sent home.

So true!
I have had to doublecheck on almost every CT scan that I have had...some "glitch" in the computer system requires you to open another file to see the Dr. order or some such nonsense the secretary always says. You defintely have to be your own advocate when it comes to health care. I had to browbeat the Interventional Radiologist into using glue instead of dissolvable stitches for my THIRD port, the other 2 removed for stitch abcess. Am officially the "problem" patient lol.

Send you home, when it's their mistake?
I don't think so!
I would stay - as long as the Doctor was there; but then I travel over 320 miles round trip to see my Oncologist.
I am gla that you pushed up the date a few days. Did you ask to be notified if they have a cancellation? Thats also an option.

Well, with the chemo, because I have been getting it a special way to deal with the allergy, I couldn't get it anyway. This happened once with a scan, but they fit me in anyway.
i didn't ask about a cancellation. But mostly because I was so livid when I saw the date, that I could only keep my composure for that time. The scan is on the 21st to let this last chemo work. I actually feel confident about the residual foci cells being gone as the oxaliplatin was working well at killing the tumors while also trying to kill me I am nervous about the nodules on lungs that they have never been able to tell if are cancer or scarring from sickness. Now, I am allergic to a lot, so have had a lot of congestion, they don't think cancer because then the oxaliplatin should have worked on it also, apparently rare that it wouldn't. But I just can't let myself think about maybe being in remission because it makes it too painful if not, if the lung nodules are cancer.

I don't think anything can make the coming days easy, waiting for the results. Your head will go from positive to negative in a moment. From knowing all will be well to thinking all will all to peices.
I guess you just have to roll with the emotions and count down the day.
Praying your results are tip top and I get to break out the Happy Dancing Man.

It was not until I met with a lung surgeon that specialises in cancer that I found out most of the nodules that no one else (Radiologists)would state were cancer were actually cancer. He could tell by the shape, opaqueness and location mostly with pretty much certainty. And that the chemo wiped them out but one. I would have loved to have know that a lot sooner!

Do you mean for yours or in general radiologists and oncologist who are not surgeons can't tell? Glad the chemo got them! Mine aren't getting smaller even though the chemo is really working well on the liver tumors, so that is one of the reasons they think it is not cancer. He didn't consult with surgeon, but one of the four radiologists he consulted with does have lung as a specialty.

I am not sure if it is just my radiologists/oncologist that do not want to say they were cancer...oncologist would only say that if they disappear than they were most likely malignant, and that if they stay the same while others disappear most likely they are benign. So i guess that says it without saying it lol. I have made such a fuss with the Radiologists here because of my screwed up ports that I think they are afraid to be wrong so they just say if it has grown or shrunk. Sounds like yours are stable and unchanged with evidence the chemo is working--thats a great sign I would think!!
