My son diagnosed at 4 with ALL, BMT @6 - Now 20
My question for survivors, especially ones who have had complications from treatment, liver or kidney failure, from their treatment as a child. Have you been able to successfully transition into adulthood? What tips can you give me? My son has social anxiety and is 100% dependent on us; I'm trying to find support groups for him to help him feel that he's not alone. He doesn't have any friends, doesn't work, or drive but is a full-time college student so he's out there but tends to isolate himself. He's the sweetest young man but he's very small due to kidney disease from his treatment and looks about five years younger than 20.

Hi all. My name is Carole and I am a CML cancer survivor of 5 years. I am 67 years old. I had chemo, radiation, and a stem cell transplant. I'm so grateful that there is treatment available for all. I can remember a time when they wouldn't bother to treat senior citizens with cancer. I had planned to resume working after my cancer treatment, but chemo brain put an end to that hope.

Hi,
I also had cancer in childhood, I had Leukemia LLA discovered when I was 9 years old and I treated until I had almost 13. Was around 2 years and a half of treatment between chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Today I am married and I would be more than happy to talk with you.
