Financial Assistance
My wife was diagnosed with Olfactory neuroblastoma back in March. It is located in her nasal cavity, brain, two lymph nodes in her neck, and behind her throat. She had extreme chemo treatments every 21 days with great results. They started to do the surgery but backed off after cancer cells were detected in an area thay couldn't reach. They are now sending her through 33 treatments of radiation (5 1/2 weeks) accompanied with chemo once a week. We are now seeing the medical bills start to arrive and her short term disability has expired and we are waiting (four weeks now) for a dertermination on her long term disability. Are there any foundations out there that offer monetary help for families going through this type of cancer?

Finacial Assistance
Here are a few that we have used-Cancer Coalition-as far as I know every county has one they helped with gift cards for gas and food, Salvation Army helped again with gas cards,American cancer Society helped us with low cost hotel rooms because we have to travel for treatments. You should also get ahold of The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) again every county has one they can help with Social Security Disability questions and even know of local organizations that may be able to help.
I know how cancer treatments can eat a hole in your savings account, we been doing this for almost 2 years and our savings account is empty and now we are using our retirement accounts, we live in such a rural area that we have to travel for any type of medical treatment and hotels and gas really add up, also now have to pay $1500.00 a month for my husband for Health Insurance and now they are denying everything as "not medically necessary", I guess when you have Stage 4 Bile Duct Cancer it's not medically necessary to keep you alive.
Hope some of these places can help you and I wish you and your family the best of luck!
