Uncle Ned / Need advice
Hi, all -
Uncle Ned will be having dinner with me. YAY! It's too hot to heat up the kitchen by cooking, so take-away pizza is sounding really good right now. Maybe we'll get a movie and eat in front of the TV instead of doing the dining room dinner thing. Which makes me wonder...
After not drinking beer in decades, I recently had some New Belgium Fat Tire Ale (amber / dark ale?). It was good, and I was wondering: (1) Does it go well with pizza; and (2) Do you think Uncle Ned will like it?
Thank you in advance - !
PS After surgery in December 2016, I'm on a 6 month schedule for follow-up scans now. My physician is leaving the area, so my next visit will be with someone different (but in the same practice). I'll miss him, but I'm sure the next physician will be good, too.

Yes and Yes
A beer once in a while is not going to hurt you, and a cold brew does go well with pizza.
Because of other meds I'm on for high BP and other things under control, my Rx adivice is to not drink alcohol while taking those meds. But I just had my second Margarita for the year this past weekend. Kind of once in a blue moon thing, but it went down Smmmoooooth while sitting at a Sky Bar in the setting sun while visiting with relatives.
Congrats on NED and enjoy.

Does Santa eat the cookies?
If Uncle Ned doesn't like beer I would finish it like Santa's cookies. Congratulations on your report and sharing the good news. Enjoy your well earned pizza and beer.

From my experience, Uncle Ned
From my experience, Uncle Ned likes German beers (wheat in particular) and he’s a sucker for a good Cab, Zin or Pinot Noir.
Oh. And he loves a good thin crust pizza.

If having artichoke hearts on the pizza was Bay Area Guy's idea . Otherwise, it was a great beer and (thin crust) pizza celebration with him.

I've had a few Tequila Sunrises. Not lately, because my allergy medicine gets me pretty loopy if I try to drink while on it, so I can relate to the meds thing. I'm not sure a Margarita or a Sunrise would work with pizza. A cold beer seemed to hit the spot, though!

Me, at 3:30 a.m., tippy-toeing to the living room to get (and eat / drink) Uncle Ned's stale tepid glass of beer and a room temperature pizza slice !

Uncle Ned's Twin
I think he must have a twin because he was visiting me early last week at the same time.
Congratulations!
And as I said I'm CKD Stage 3, and I drink beer and wine. I think 1-2 now and then won't hurt. I believe I asked my nephrologist and she agreed.
