Test before treatment
What test would you want before treatment to establish a baseline and why would you want such test? I am going to have some form of treatment for a small tumor sooner or later (probably sooner) and would like to know as much as I can before hand in order to know where I stand after.
Thanks
Perry

What is the size of your tumor?
Chip,
Besides the Kidney they often do a CT of thee lungs for lung nodules (preferable over a chest xray). Depending on the size of the tumr and other indications they may further scan your bones, spine or brain. Most often spreading (mets) if any first show up in the chest

Size is 1.8 x 2.3 I've had CT and all appears to be good except the little friend on my right kidney. Are there any specfic test for the kidneys to set a baseline to compare future results too?

My experience....
My tumor was found through a CT w/o contrast. Doctor sent me for an US to confirm characteristics of the tumor. From there I went to Mayo in Rochester, MN. My surgeon ran a CT with contrast of my abdomen and chest. While on the table they used an US to guide my surgeon during the partial nephrectomy.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
