Wishing you the best outcome after surgery today and complete and speedy recovery. Please let us know how you are doing. Please remember to not overdo it. It's going to be rough for rehabilitation but remember the pain is there to show you that something positive is happening. It will get easier but remember to also take it day by day.
Hugs! Kim

Thank you Kim
The surgery went well. I guess now I can focus on something other than cancer for just a bit. They did say I have a little osteoporosis so my bones are weaker than they used to be. Thesurgeon said 20 years ago I may have just gotten a bad bruise and not a full break. Lots of pain. Again. I need to stay positive for my overall chances for decent health.
Praying. Beth

Broke my left hip. Can you believe it? Tripped and fell on hardwood floor in our family room.

Ouch!!
So sorry. You are too young for that calamity. Try to keep your spirits up.
Maybe you could sue yourself and receive a windfall benefit? Others have tried, I think. (I am being facetious, but people do so many odd things now that I thought I might mention it.)

The surgeon said chemo has probably weakened my bones but that I can take some supplements to help stop the degeneration. Ugh. Wish it was just a bruise. Quite the setback needing to learn to walk again.
Sue myself? Hahaaaa. Nah.

Dear friend
What news!
I'm sorry to hear of your fall and subsequent surgery. Like you don't have enough to deal with, now this.
We've got your back. Too bad we wern't there to catch your fall. We would have, you know.
Take good care of yourself, and I hope healing is fast and the pain goes away quickly.

The support of this group is so important to me. I know you all would havw caught me; instead you're all like a fluffy pillow helping me endure this crap. I just had a CT scan last Friday and I don't even want to know results yet. I am looking at a few weeks in the hospital rehab if my insurance will cover it. And now I can address the osteoporosis. Just praying this isn't a setback.

Glad to Hear
Glad to hear that everything went well. Take it easy but do as the rehab has told you. Once again wishing you well on your scan results and praying all is well.

Awful stuff. I used to workBRHMichigan said:Fell

Awful stuff. I used to work in a hospital and we had a fair amount of older patients come in with this. When my mother returned home from her heart attack, the social worker came over and had someone come in to analyze home risks and he made a bunch of recommendations. She ignored one of them (taping down a rug) and she eventually tripped on it and dislocated her shoulder. I hope that you can figure out how to get your bones stronger again and hope for a quick recovery.

How you feeling
Just wondered how you are feeling? I'm sure that rehab has started and you are just loving it (ugggg). Do you get in-home care for rehab? Hope so as it's rough at the beginning. Hope you are doing well and just wanted to check in.
