Hi All! I'm checking in

As some of you know, I've had a hard ride but I just finished (about 3-4weeks ago) my second course of radiation to the area where my cancer had spread. In March, I was in hospital, unable to see, walk, or dress myself. I was prepared for death but amazingly there were treatments that gave me quality and my life back, for however long...I'm again considering Opdivo, depending on how I feel (for another spread to my lung). Despite all this, I just wanted to say that life is precious. It's a gift to have the opportunity to leave nothing unsaid to family and friends, to say how much I love them, and to just hug them, knowing many don't ever get the chance. I want to say that each day that I am able to greet the dawn is a blessing, for none of us truly have any guarantees for our tomorrow. Amazingly, the intial area of cancer in my neck is gone. So, for anyone who is feeling despair, I want to say that life is worth the fight, and one day you just awaken with a strength that you never knew you had- it comes from many places. Grasp it and enjoy each day! As the saying goes, you will never be this young again (or, as some of us know, this healthy!). God bless, everyone! I will try to keep you abreast of my journey in hope that it helps others. Love to you all.

Hi dean, Thank you! I see my

Hi dean, Thank you! I see my oncologist this week and hoping to get some positive news (anything positive). Though I'm accepting of where I am right now, I am not ready to give up the ghost yet, the family would not be impressed ha ha. Lots of time and energy spent helping me along. The most difficult has been the change in lifestyle- what I wouldn't give to get out for a run or go to the gym again. I can tell that you must be feeling better, dean, and I'm so happy to see you getting on c life. Pump some iron for me!

    Staying Positive

That is so nice to read your positive experience of dealing with the dreaded C.  Some have a hard time keeping positive when they're going through such a hard time.  Now that you've turned the corner it is refreshing to read your remarks.

Keep the faith and your health!
