Emotion help

hey guys, it's just about more than I can handle now.  I'm sure it's the Lupron along w/ taking Zytiga in the middle of the night, but I'm an emotional wreck.  What Rx you got out there to help? Xanax?  I'm not much on these depression meds, but I"m ready for some help.

    Help with sleeping and hormones

Redbelly7 I am sorry that you are having those issues. There was a recent study on sleep problems which had some solutions. I like reading something interesting to get my mind on something else. Here is the link: http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/prostate-cancer/practical-emotional-support/hormone-symptoms/sleep-problems-sex-hormone-symptoms Recommendations were:

    Tips to help with sleep:

go to bed and get up the same time each day and reduce naps

do some light exercise each day to tire yourself

make sure the room is not too hot or too cold

relax before bedtime, by taking a bath or listening to music

avoid alcohol for 6 hours before going to bed

    don't go to bed hungry

Talk to your doctor or nurse if you have tried these tips and they haven’t helped. Talking with others with similar issues like a local support group or counselor will help to. Best wishes!

    Talk to the doctor

    Hi Redbelly,

I would talk to your doctor that prescribed the meds.  Both of those meds could have some nasty side effects, maybe with both together double whamy on the side effects.

    Hi

    Hi

I also am suffering from emotional ups and downs. It is very hard to tell what is the treatment and what is the general anxiety this bloody thing causes. The above is good advice, especially having someone to talk to and getting your medications reviewed.

I have started meditation and Qi Gong and that appears to be helping a lot. I just need to stick with it.
