Hi Kriskris
Hi Kris, sorry you are here..but you are STILL here! I had left breast removal little over a year ago...yeah had to take a few days to wrap my head around what the Dr told me. Gathered myself and sat down just my sisters and talked to them.(I did not feel it was necessary to tell my elder mom or my daughter they would not have taken it well) know your family and how they deal with stuff my sisters went with me to my appointment to discuss options and to listen to what was being said and took notes ..(I was numb and glad they were there to listen and write stuff down) Im blessed i insisted on additional testing after my mamo because I knew something was not right ..Glad I did ..Im here living my "NEW NORMAL" back at work living my life loving and enjoying my twin grandbabies and not ...sweating the small stuff anymore! Hang in there Kris! keep asking questions of your doctors to know all your options they will tell you everything but you have final say on what you decide. GET 2nd opinions if necessary.
prayers and blessings to you !

Aloha!
Hello and welcome to the club no one wants to be in! Finding statistical information is easy - finding out the truth of what people go through is a bit tougher. This seems to be a good place for that (and my YouTube channel, of course! (<--shameless self-promotion)).

Thank you
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I have been so overwhelmed with the information and choices that I have to make. It feels good to be here with others who have walked this road before me or walking with me. You are all right, this is a club no one wants to be in but here we are!

hello Kris
Hello Kris , the plan was for me to have reconstruction. I even had the breast expander inserted during the initial breast removal surgery and completed my fills with the expander and then went thru my treatments (radiation) and after 6 months had plastic sergeon to check the expander to see is ready to remove expander and insert the implant ..but during the radiation the area shrunk and was not enough expand to in a implant..he suggested pulling skin from different areas (stomach /back) to help and do the implant that way which is a longer process and longer recovery..he also said he may needed to wait until after a year to do implant or even should have not did expander and opt to have implant done later. Either Way...it did not work for me and I just decided to just not have ANY type of reconstruction..did not want to go thru all that....I have bra inserts that work fine that they sell at the "think Pink" stores in my area. (breastlike inserts that go inside the bra come in all cup sizes... you will never know ..by looking ! THIS IS MY STORY..normally reconstruction works will for people ... plus you can always do it later.
keep talking to all your doctors.... hugs and prayers to you and your family !
