Hi Billie first week of
Hi Billie first week of treatment done and went yesterday for hydration and radiation and sat in the chair and cried was nauseous since Wednesday night. But my nurse Chris fixed me up, feeling moments of tiredness and it’s driving me insane. Is this normal for the first week?? Also told me to keep hydrated and take the nausea med every six hours regardless if I need it or not so I pray that helps. Weather in Wolcott CT is 71 and sunny. Husband is outside power washing the deck so I can sit and enjoy after my days at the hospital. Love when we can have meals out there. Thinking positive or at least trying week one down 6 more to go!!!
Left side of neck feels strange, sore kinda like but throat is good, little mucus but that normal for me specially this time of year.
Hope your enjoying that Cali sun!!!

I love the weekend breaks also
Hi
I'm doing radition (IMRT) on just my left tonsil right now also. I was just wondering how everyone else feels over the weekend? Do you seem to get a little better or do you feel the treatments from the week cach up with you? I'm only doing radiation, no chemo but I'm on week 3 ( 3 days done of the 5 for the week, I started on a Wed.) I'm at the point were I'm getting ulcers on my tongue and the back of my mouth is sore. The weekend seems like a mixed bag for me, one minute I feel fairly good and a couple hours later lots of pain. Hang in there eveyone we can get through this!

Oh Honey, I’m so sorry. I remember it well. I am happy you are going to regular hydration right from the get’go. My dr didn’t start sending me until about the 3rd or 4th week and once he did I felt lots better.
So yes, what you are going thru sounds very common. YES take the zofran regularly even if you think you are not nauseou. Staying ahead of it is key.
Make sure you use sunscreen and keep your neck out of direct sunlight if you can, your skin will be much more sensitive and more likely to burn and you don’t want the skin breaking down. You will get some breakdown during then end phases of treatment so prolong that as long as you can.
keep drinking fluids and eating whenever you can. Feel good my friend.

Weekends were pretty much the same for me. I would be thrilled to not have my daily rad appt and my weekly chemo appt but I felt like I’d been hit by a truck. But then I’d go back to being happy that I didn’t have to drag myself to my “glow treatments” Make sure you tell your RO about the sores so they can give you something. Sometimes its thrush and you need meds.
Get some rest!
Billie

it seems i get 3 days off a week. At least once a week the radiation gods can't keep their machine up and running. Last 4 weeks I have missed 1 day each week
my weekend usually is to recover from chemo... its like no break

Oh gosh, sorry for all of the machine troubles. That being said, when I was going thru treatment I would have given anything for the machine to break haha
Friday is right around the corner again so enjoy the upcoming couple o days off.
