Pomegranate
From the “it probably can’t hurt department”:
I am not much of a juice drinker, but I have recently added pomegranate juice to my regime after reading some preliminary studies about its anti-cancer effect. The evidence is not overwhelming and is based mostly on test tube and rat studies, but hey, I figure a glass a day can’t hurt. Here, if you are interested, are a couple of articles that had pretty good summaries:

A number of studies, both in vitro and in vivo, demonstrated the ability of pomegranate and its polyphenols to contrast various biological events involved in cancer pathogenesis and progression. This scenario paves the way to a double exploitation of pomegranate polyphenols in cancer: as a chemopreventive strategy to reduce the onset of tumors through diet and direct anticancer agents to treat different human cancers at higher dosage regimens more reliably achievable through pharmaceutical delivery of purified compounds.

Considerable data demonstrates the in vitro and in vivo efficacy of pomegranate against cancer growth and promotion; however, well-designed human clinical trials are necessary to validate the usefulness of these natural agents either alone or in combination with current therapy for the prevention and treatment of skin, breast, prostate, lung, and colon cancers.

Thumbs up
I'm a 'try anything' patient. Will need to check sugar content, but this sounds great. Thanks for continuing to share things we can do over and above, or in place of conventional treatments.
