    good question

I'm guessing there is no "easy" answer. At least, none that I have found. I think it may depend on the type of RCC and other factors. Maybe ask your physician? I've seen a wide variety and it freaked me out, so I decided that it doesn't matter because I am going to live each day to the fullest and hope I stay disease free!

    i remember you

You and Glider have the same papillary... your mInds must be synching

Justin for your small size stats says anything from 90 to 97%

i was in the same place as you six months ago...4.4cm .. and my fear was off the scale .. just like you

i lost my husband to cancer and have two sons. I did not want history repeating

    We kinda both struck lucky

    Yours was small

Mine turned out to be a chromie which is supposed to be less aggressive

i Have scared my Consultant into submission by practually ringing him every week with a new sympton

But six months down the line the fear is easing

the only thing we can do now is fight and ensure we get good testing

Hang on tight and it will get easier..

    Ballpark

Annie is right in the ballpark.  In my pre-op meetings with my surgical team they said that if it was stage 1 I had about a 5% chance of reoccurrence.  I try not to focus on those numbers...although it was a boost in my confidence.

    Good luck!

God I read that and my eyes missed the 30% bit

that is scary but not backed up

Urology Europe say 90% for five years and  vary for 10 years with lowest figure being 85% for stage one

    those are old data too

no idea where the 30% comes from

    i need to explore this
