Have you asked your dad's doctor
about his blood test results and whether the 10.5 hemoglobin count is raising any red flags? Although it seems a bit low you could be worrying needlessly. I would think that if the oncologist feels he is developing severe anemia, he or she might order an intravenous iron infusion, but that's something you and your father would need to discuss with the medical team. I can't offer any personal advice based on my experience since I never had a problem with low counts. My hemoglobin count before surgery was 13.4 and been around 12.7 since surgery.

Levels
Everyone is different on getting their levels back if they have fallen. Some of mine actually took about year after treatment before it was near normal. My WBC never came back. You need to talk to his doctor about if they feel there is a concern. Whenever my blood was taken, if even some were low, my doctor would be the one to tell me if there was need for concern. You can even call the nurse just to ease your mind. Hope you get some answers sooner.
