surgery for my husband is set for May 1st
It’s going to be a bit easier he is going to ablate (burn) the tumor in the hard to resect lobe. This much less invasive and traumatic to his system. Then he will resect the area of the liver with the larger tumor, hoping there is no scar tissue it should not be too difficult. He is hoping this way he won’t need to rebuild any bile ducts and a very tiny chance of needing a drain this way. So that’s much better. He will still put in the hepatic artery infusion pump and he will receive chemo in that for 6 months, as well as repeating the systemic chemo again. He should be in the hospital for 5 days.
i wasnt able to go with him today I had no coverage for our autistic son so I was very nervois but it seemed to go well.

There you go!
It was only days ago when your future looked so dark. Now there is a light. Stay positive and committed.
Still praying for you.

Great news, Ruth!
So happy you have a plan now. Onward and upward. I try to remember every day is such a gift after this diagnosis. Amazing what our bodies can endure.
Hope you rest well now. --Beth

I am hoping this puts cancer a few steps behind us for a while. I am worried about you, I hope you get some good answers from your oncologist soon.

Wonderful
I've been thinking about you and this is good news. Where are you having this done? I'm glad that they have a plan for him. Sounds like things are going in the right direction. You sound so much better in this post. It's so difficult when things are so up in the air and no one is giving you answers. I'm so glad that this will all be behind you soon. Praying for the best outcome.

i know it’s still a big surgery but it’s no where near as risky as he first planned so we are both better. It’s nice to see an end for a while in sight. He is having his surgery in NYC at MSK, with Dr Peter Kingham.

I know how silly that must sound to some. Plesed about surgery. But, when you've been told no surgery, and surgery is your best bet, then it IS good news.
I have it down on the calendar and will be sending prayers and good vibes all the way.
Tru
it is weird to get excited about surgery but I know most here understand. Thank you Tru!!! I hope your wrist is healing well!
