Whining for no good reason

Hi Fellow Semi-colons!

I have no reason to whine.  Seriously.  No reason at all.  I'm 11.5 years NED for colon cancer which is a super, super blessing!  But today I had my first colonoscopy in 5 years due to not having insurance for a while.  Anyway, 6 polyps were found, two in the hepatic flexure, two in the splenic flexure, one in the sigmoid colon and one on the rectum.  All except the one on the rectum were sessile polyps which are deemed "most likely to succeed in becoming cancerous."

My cancers are caused by Lynch Syndrome, so polyps aren't necessarily present at the cancer site.  Which is why I feel so murderous today.  Seriously?  Now I have suspect polyps, too?  Well, pathology report should be back in a week and I'll see what's what at that time.  Meanwhile, I just had to vent.  You know how it is:  with family you're all, "Hey, it's all good!  Polyps are gone.  Wheeee!"  But in my head I'm going, "Oh, what now?"

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.  When so many of you are dealing with so much this seems beyond trivial.  Thanks for your patience.

Kirsten

    Nope

Nothing is trivial if it is happening to you.

Your concerns are just as frightening and just as important as the concerns of those who are in up to their necks.

I hope all turns out well. Eleven and a half years NED is glourious. Lets make it eleven more plus.

Whine all you want. We're here to listen.

    Whining

You're never whining when it is a concern to you.  No one knows how you feel and what you are going through but you.  You have legit concerns and it's ok.  I'm wishing all comes out well with the results.  Congratulations on long time surviorship.  It's wonderful that you came back to let us know.

    Thanks!

Thank you for the validation!  Truly, this was the safest place for me while I was dealing with the colon cancer--and then a year later with endometrial cancer.  I wish cancer would just.  go.  away.

    Thank you!

Yet and still, it feels like whining to me.  But I love that this is still the safest place I know to talk about what concerns me when it comes to cancer.  This place kept me sane when I went through my two cancers.  Thanks for letting it still be so safe.  Big hugs!

    It's not whining. We never

It's not whining. We never get to let our guard down with this crap. I was at chemo today and an older lady came around to chat to the patients. She told me she had cancer in 1971 and has never had a recurrence but she still worries. I don't know what type of cancer she had.

I have to say, though, eleven and a half years!! Good for you!!

Big hugs to you too.  It's good to see you post again, but I'm sorry for your concern.  You are always welcome here and we always welcome your sharing with this board.  It's good to see everyone's journey.
