Middle lobe lung cancer
Has anyone had a tumor in the middle lobe and had successful VATS surgery? I have had two doctors tell me it can be done but I saw a local surgeon who said he thought iit was doubtful. My oncologist is sending me to a better surgeon this week at a large teaching hospital. No lymph nodes are involved at this time.

Many people have had
Many people have had sucessful VATS done on middle lobes. You need to see a surgeon who specializes in VATS. Getting it done at a teaching hospital is a good idea, as they have some of the best doctors in the country. If you can get into a cancer center of a large teaching hospital, that would be great. VATS is becoming a routine surgery at many large hospitals and the recovery is much quicker. Best of luck to you!
