Oxaliplatin put back into mix
Has anyone been taken off the Oxi and then put back on with success? Me CEA has been creeping up, so onc added Oxi to my latest infusion at a reduced dose. I previously had 13 infusions with the Oxi, then taken off for past six months to the neuropathy. If anyone has similar experience let me know. Peace!

I Did Not Have It Put Back In
When my neuropathy did not resolve after my 8th session with the Oxi, the Oncologist pulled it before the 9th due to the risk for permanent and substantial issues. (He said the change is not linear, once it starts, it snowballs.) And he was pretty clear I would not go on it again. A couple of months ago I was told it is back and inoperable in lymph nodes. At some point I will go on FOLFORI this time (did FOLFOX for 12 treatments, with 8 sessions with the Oxi initially). Was told they still would not put me back on the Oxi part at this time.
So if you go back on, make sure to monitor this carefully and do not ignore it.
Best of luck.
And I just have to ask (maybe I have and forgot due to chemo brain) Fender player? Based on your screen name

Everything that I've seen indicates that Oxaliplatin accelerates, even with linear dosages and it's a bit scary being on it. Kudos to those that have made it throught the entire course - I don't know that I could do it right now.

I was messed up for awhile. Was so strange. I had to look at the fretboard, felt like my fingers were on novacaine and could not play a lick (as it were ) It came back. Couple of other guitar players on the board that I know of. I have a Tele with a single coil and a humbucker. Maple neck (I usually prefer rosewood in general) and more a Start and Les Paul guy, but this guitar just called to me in the store. I LOVE it. The frets are perfect. Cannot believe how long I have it now.

great to play guitar, it’s my solace. Something magical about it. Good to hear of a guitar player on the board!

Oh my goodness
I'm not sure how you got through that many rounds with oxy. I've been on medication for 9 years due to neuropathy caused by that medication. Some doctors feel that only a certain amount of that is what is going to help. If you can tolerate it and your doctor thinks that this is the solution and it doesn't bother you or cause you harm than this a decision you have to make. I'd never be able to go on it again. Wishing you well.
