I got good news today

Hi ladies...

y'all have been such great support...thank you so much!

I saw my radiology oncologist today and although he didn't say I am exactly dancing with NED lets say we are in the same ballroom and he has spotted me from across the floor and is heading my way...

Quick background: I have Stage 4 UPSC....hysterectomy in Nov 2016, 6 rounds carboplatin/taxol spring of 2017, radiation to abdomen and pelvis June/July 2017 (25 rounds plust 3 brachy) and my radiology oncologist found cancer in 2 lymph glands in my neck and treated them with 30 rounds of radiation and 4 rounds cisplatin.

I had an MRI of my neck on Monday (I had a panic attack so I won't do that without sedation again) and today I went to see the radiology oncologist for results...

The good news: the lymph glands have signifcantly shrunk

the "meh" news: they are on the large side of normal but that may just be how they are

So I will have a PET scan in 6 weeks and he will decide then if I go to the surgeon to have the lymph glands removed if they light up or have not gone down more. They are near my corotid artery so surgery could be risky and could lead to some nerve damage but my RO has full faith in this surgeon (he called him while I was in the office) and so we shall see...

So NED is on my dance card...I'm just waiting my turn for him to come and ask me to dance...I think I would like to waltz...

Thank you all so much!!!! You are the best warriors I could have battling along with me...

take care ladies...

xoxo

Anice

These news are worthy of a big celebration. How do you plan on celebrating? So glad to hear that you have a medical team that you trust.

I have a bottle of champagne that I have been waiting to open since September...I didn't open it then because my doctor informed me we had to treat my neck...so tonight my aunt (who is my mom/big sister/best friend) is coming over and we are going to open it...

I have the best doctors...my oncologist is amazing and she's so on top of things and my radiology oncologist is literally named Angel...how can I lose when I have an angel on my side?

I'm blessed to have the medical care I have...

Thank you!!!!  I slept better last night...first time in a long time...

just very happy my kids will have a better Christmas this year than last year when I was going through my first round of chemo.  They rae 19 and 24 years old so they are old enough to know that this disease is a bear...and yesterday they were overjoyed to hear that it looks like I might be dancing with NED...

have a wonderful holiday season...we are all blessed to be here to celebrate and enjoy...

    Thank you NoniK

    you are so sweet!

i stay positive because I believe it leads toward wellnes!  I trust my doctors and I’ve told myself since I heard the words “you have cancer” that I am a survivor. Cancer has taught me a lot about myself and my faith has been tested. But I’m here. And I know I have a future—-I want to see my kids succeed as adults, love grandchildren when the time comes and hopefully I’ll meet a man that will love me.

Stay positiv—-I looked at each treatment as a blessing...I named my cancer EL Diablo (the devil) and me and my friends all say “Adios El Diablo”—-even my doctor says it!

you can do this...you can beat it!

Hang in there...none of this is easy and this time of year makes it harder...

    praying for you....
