Jelly Legs??
Something new popped up today. Three and a half weeks past surgery and I have jelly legs. They feel so weak and shaky today! Almost as if they won't hold me up. Anyone experience this and know why? It isn't awful, just weird lol. Call me Shaky Dave lol.

Jelly legs
Hmm, not sure. I do know that my right leg (thigh, surgery side) was numb almost to the knee for a long time - the nerves retunring to "normal" took some weird turns and feelings. Like Crash, my body took a year to feel anywhere near normal and I still have occasional tight feeling off and on at surgery site. The six weeks after surgery I intentionally did as much walking as I could tolerate, but I used my hiking poles for balance, stability, and because was afraid of falling or tearing up the stitches. I still do lots of walking, but don't use the sticks except for actual hiking now. Hang in there...

Could be a number of things.
Could be a number of things. Getting enough nutrients/protein? Sleep?
And have you been checked for anemia?
Lastly, call your doctor! Let us know how you are doing. I also suspect medication. Are you still on opiates?
If you don't hear from you surgeon soon, then check in with your primary.
You'll be okay...soon.
Healing hugs, Jan

Hi Jan! I find it happens mid
Hi Jan! I find it happens mid-morning to mid-day if I have not drank enough water. I have been eating well albeit way less than before (not a bad thing lol). I do get hypoglycemic at times, but it has never presented itself this way. I find if I drink water and lay down for a bit that it goes away. I will keep an eye on it. I see my family doc Dec. 21st and will ask him at that point. My whole life I probably walked around dehydrated lol and never felt this way. I guess my system is totally different now. I cannot get away with the things I used to (jogging on a hot day without any water lol). Thank you for your thoughts and suggestions!! You are the best!!!

When you mentioned it comes
When you mentioned it comes along certain times of day. I wondered: Blood sugar drop?
Try eating small amount of protein.
Again, i think your primary could take a look at this.
Yes, it is corectable most likely.
continued wellness my dear~

Annissa have you made an appt
Annissa have you made an appt with a nephrologist yet? You and I are both left with one kidney. Mine was currently only operating at 55% so he's watching and testing because it takes time for it to compensate and grow after being the only kidney.

Rockspin
No I have not done that. I have my 1st follow up sometime in Feb to check the kidney function via blood work. The surgeon is setting that up for me (Urologist/Oncologist). Sorry to hear about yours! All I know is that I need to sit and rest throughout the day as I get a little faint feeling or shaky and weak legs at times (sometimes arms feel shaky too). It happened yesterday so I drank more water and layed down for about 20 min. and it went away.
