Outcome on rising afp but scans clear

hi. Just wanted to update my case just in case it proves useful to any tc survivors that might have the same situation. After almost 2 years of monitoring my rise in afp and a failed TIP regime, a pet ct scan last sept16 finally picked up something- a 1cm paraesophageal lymph node right between my lungs! Afp was over 2000+. I went for surgery to remove the lymph node. Afp 2 months after the op is now 2.9 only. Hopefully it stays this way. Histology study reveals yolk sac tumour.

almost a year since i last

almost a year since i last posted. quarterly scans remain clear. Afp fluctuates between 2s and 5s. Maybe has to do with what i eat. Anyways i am on alternative treatment and not using any drugs/medicine.

    AFP 37

Hi... new here. Little worried!!! My parents were both diagnosed with cancer last yeae... dad with bladder cancer and mum with breast. Both aged 69 at the time. Both doing great since which is brilliant... thank god!

However... 2 wks ago i was called by my gp to say i had an elevated AFP reading in my bloods... she said it should be below 10 and mine is at 37. Went for ultrasound last fri. Awaiting results this wk. Should i be worried... from reading comments above im not sure if any level over 10 is worring. Basically what i wondered is that can there be a perfectly normal explanation... could this be normal for me. Any advice while i wait and worry would be greatly appreciated. I am a 41 yr old mum of 4!!!
