Hi StaciLynn - I am new to

Hi StaciLynn - I am new to this group and just saw your post today. I had laparascopic hysterectomy in June for endometrial cancer. I was discharged from hospital the next day and recovery was uneventful. Stage 1, grade 1, endometrioid cell type so no need for radiation (or chemo). I'm 63. My kid sister (age 61 in two weeks) hasnt been so lucky. She had hysterectomy (open procedure) in 2014 and made a good recovery. Radiation followed. Mets diagnosed last year, treated with 6 cycles of chemotherapy- which we learned in mid-August didn't work. Now she's in palliative care at home and I'm her caregiver. Good luck to you.

TheTerry, I am so sorry to

TheTerry, I am so sorry to hear this.  God bless you dear one.  Being a caregiver is very hard and I have no doubt you wouldn't have it any other way for your sister.  I can't imagine how hard this is for you and pray for the both of you.

Newest member to the club I don’t want to belong to

greetings ladies. I am 62, a retired social worker, three kids ages 45, 20 and 18. Yes a big gap. And I was just diagnosed this morning with endometrial cancer. Suffice to say I am in shock and my thoughts and emotions move at lighting speak from “ I can do this” to crying for my mothers less kids. I am exhausted and it’s only day 1. I don’t even know what I’m needing right now. I’ve shared news with my close friends but I can’t help thinking that in their words of comfort they are thinking they are glad it’s not them. Anyway, I’m doing the waiting game. Tests, visit to onc/Gyn and then surgery. So that is my day 1

Marcia, I'm sorry to hear of

Marcia, I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis. You might want to start a separate thread as this one is older.

It is a shock to hear the word cancer, and so many emotions go thru your head. I was diagnosed on September 28, had my surgery, and just started chemo this week. I think one of the hardest parts is the waiting.

    Welcome Marcia 55. So sorry

Welcome Marcia 55. So sorry you are going through this and I'm glad you found us. This is the hardest part of the journey... Waiting, waiting and more waiting... Once you have your surgery and learn your stage and grade of cancer, you will get a plan for going forward. That plan will give you a sense of purpose and you will see you are a strong woman. In the meantime, it may be beneficial to get an anti-anxiety med to get over the hump. I never take anything and I followed that advise. I'm so glad I did. it helped me a lot.

Please ask us anything. We will be here for you and nothing is off limits.

    Love and Hugs,

    Cindi
