19 weeks and 3 days out of treatment today

So after all the fun off 7 weeks radiation and 3 high doses of Cisplatin I ran my first marathon of the year today at 57 years of age in 3:35:20 and placed 2nd overall. I was 5 minutes slower than before treatment for the same race as last year so I guess at the moment the new me is just about the same as the old me. It can still come back but I think I will just get on with it and enjoy life because if it changes me to much it's won.

Great to hear! I am beginning

Great to hear! I am beginning to think that the new normal is what we want it to be. It is just a little different for everyone. I just finished treatment and really need to read these positive posts in order to push myself. Thanks!

    Awesome Andy! I'm still

Awesome Andy! I'm still exercising but not to that extent. I'm going in for my last week of treatment this week and will be so happy to get it over with but realize how sick I will be starting tomorrow. UGH. But you are an insperation sir.

    Bam

Way to go!  I would say a 5 minute lose over the year you had was a great accomplishment.

    The new normal

Is what you make it by not letting this thing change your life after trearment fighting it every day and not letting it control you 100% positive attitude helps lol

    Awesome!

ive been away from the boards for a while as I just needed a little break. I am happy to log in and see this awesome news.  I do agree with you about new normal.  With the exception of not being able to sing yet and having some dry mouth issues, my husband is pretty much back to old normal.  We are slowly working on the singing and it’s getting better all the time.  He goes for another scan on December 9th.
