Surgery Scheduled
We met with the MD Anderson team yesterday and have been scheduled for surgery next Wednesday (11/1/17). The plan is to have a partial nephrectomy but I have also consented for a radical if it is determined to be the best route once he is in there.
The wording 'inseparable from diaphragm' that had us so worried didn't seem to be an issue; however, there were a few lymph nodes that caught his eye but other than that things seem pretty 'routine'.
Glad to have a plan and a date...

Moving foward is good! Here's to an uneventful and successful surgery as well as the best possible outcome with the nodes! I too was told I could have a radical but once they were in there it was not as deep as it appeared and I only lost 10% of my kidney. I was mentally ready for the whole thing to be removed!

Sorry to just be updating
But I am home after 4 days in the hospital and like to think I am recovering like a rock star!
My 10" jagged scar, occassional discomfort and swelling causing my belly button to be unrecognizable isn't slowing my rock star recovery!!
I thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, good vibes, and well wishes!!
