Team Susan-Facing Forward: Support her AND the Foundation for Women's Cancer
Ok, Team Susan - Facing Forward, I'll be running a virtual/shadow 5K with you here in Central Penna. I donated to your team on the Foundation for Womens Cancer website. <Content removed by CSN Support Team>
This is how Nancy Brinker built the Susan Komen Foundation to better inform all of us about the types of breast cancer, types of treatment, etc. to improve outcomes. One day, one race, one donor at a time. I continue to be amazed/appalled at the disparities in treatment, and treatment options for endometrial/uterine cancer in general. We shouldn't have to travel the courntry or world over to get the latest science has to offer us. [Although the stem cell thing will be different - you would want to be at a center where they know how to do this].
An estimated 61,000 women will be diagnosed with uterine cancer this year. If everyone of them gave $10 to the Foundation, that'd be $610,000. Year after year, suddenly we're talking real $$$ to fund research and trials, and to effect standards of care across the board. If this type of cancer, then this type of surgery, then this chemo/radiation sequence, etc. etc, instead of me sitting here reading posts and saying to myself, hey, look what they did for her, or that other woman, or this one at this different place. If I knew then what I KNOW NOW, totally different approach for me. Since no one can get past the shock and awe of hearing "the big "C" diagnosis", it's up to us to put this information in one place, and after talking with another survivor of ovarian AND uterine, this Foundation seems to be the place.
FWC's website is a start, but it's all pretty much generalities. We need to figure out how to put our collective information - and wisdom - into it and into an app. We also need a spokeswoman. Somebody famous.

Finding "Team Susan - Facing Forward"derMaus said:Thank you for providing the
Thank you for providing the link. I'm having difficulty with the donations page; I can't get Team Susan - Facing Forward to come up on the donations page. Am I doing something wrong?
The page offers a choice between "Sign-up" and "Donate". Choose "Donate", then scroll down and your next choice is "Fundraiser" (i.e., you) or "Team Fundraiser" (Susan). Choose Team Fundraiser, then you just have to keep scrolling down and "load more team fundraisers". I had to load four times before Team Susan showed up. Then you click on her and go from there!

Link-don’t remove
Why would CSN network remove this link? Because it doesn’t raise funds for ACS? I would think you would be supportive of this organization.

CQ, they often remove any kind of fundraising things. I find PM'ing people is usually the best way to go. I, along with another young, woman who has been on this page go to the race and raise money. I think it hits a 'block' of some sort to get all the other crazy scams out there - they can't determine what is real or not.
It does seem as though the link is still there in your post, but they have 'rules' that they want everyone to follow.
