Anyone have an anal fissure?
Hi all - I have CRC with liver mets - have had many chemo treatments and have developed a fissure or tear. I go from constipation to diarrhea every chemo treatment and I think the irritation has caused this tear. Having extremely painful bm's. Using anusol (suppositories are very painful to insert). Taking 2-3 baths each day, but can't seem to heal area. I will be having ongoing chemo, so the chemo will probably make it harder to heal. Does anyone have any suggestions for me that worked for them? I would really appreciate any help.

Fissure
ive had this problem off and on for a year so I can commiserate with you except that I've had diarrhea literally for a year. Nothing helped no meds with the diarrhea they final said I have C-Diff a infection in my colon that they can't get rid of. With the infection came the orders to not take any anti-diarrheal meds either so the majority of my day every day is spent on the pot. The only thing that I've done differently is use Corona cream I think I own ever cream or ointment known to man or woman kind th there is and the Corona cream after the lidocaine ointment after the sitz bath is what I have been doing. Now know that the fissure has never healed completely but it gets better and then worse. I don't know if this will help you but at least you'll know your not alone. My prayers and hope are to you that it heals and doesn't come back.

Fissure
Hi Kim - is the corona cream applied externally or internally? I am still using anusol plus internally and taking about 3 sitz baths per day - still working on it. Not healed yet. Very hard to heal, especially with ongoing chemo. Thanks for your input.

Corona cream
I use it on both but not far inside. I'm finished with radiation I'm just doing chemo and Alamo finished with the IV chemo then I will go on the pill but I use also Nupercainal ointment too it works better than lidocaine ointm or that's my opinion and I use it inside and outside both. I sure wish and hope you have some relief.
