    Why me?

Selfish right...That's all I can think of today...Night sweats last night have got me all shaken up today( probably because of my sugar- just diagnosed last year type 2) I have been trying and succeeding at losing weight- just being healthier with food choices and walking a Mile or 2  every night.I was not in bad shape just trying to be in the best shape possible for surgery ..Waiting on my turn at surgery is daunting. Every ache and pain feels like I'm losing this..  My mass is small but man has it taken a huge part of my mind lately...I'm ok with it one hour and anxious as ever the next about it all..My mind feels out of control sometimes...

    Normal

Trucker: if you asked any member that has been on this board about their feelings from diagnosis to surgery I'll bet ALL of them had similar feelings as you.  These are normal feelings you're going through and (unfortunately) it's just part of the cancer journey.  Accept these feelings, but try not to let them consume you.  Try to focus on how lucky you are in that your tumor was found early.  I'm a year out from surgery and I'd lie if I said I don't think about cancer at least once per day--BUT it's not all day or even most of the day anymore.  Slowly, the dark cloud will subside and take less and less of your throughts.  Good luck!

    Blessings,

Just found out it will be October 18th until 8 can speak with the surgeon and then a few weeks from there before surgery..I have know about the

"Mass" since 8-18...it just takes so long to see anyone!! I freaked out on my urologist (is a great doc) saying I have got to get this thing out and I mean ASP..He basically told me to calm down all is well to quit freaking out!! I just though it would move along quicker...My GP gave me a few adavan to calm me down(anxiety) but then acts like I'm a junkie for asking for more? That's the feeling I get anyway.. I just know I can't be post op fast enough.. Everyone acts like this is no big deal, For Petes sake there is a small killer inside me!!! Right? Maybe I am a little uptight about it!!!but I don't think so...

Thank you all for the responses!!!

    Hi Trucker,

    Hi Trucker,

My husband was diagnosed in May of this year, and his surgery was August 21st.  The waiting is the hardest part.  We waited three months.  From what I've learned about kidney cancer, it is a very slow-growing cancer.  At 2.2 cm, your tumor is very small, and you won't have to worry about it getting any larger before your surgery.  While we were waiting it seemed liked "forever," but now it's all behind us.  You will get through this!  It really will be over before you know it, and you'll be on your way to recovery!

Also, you may find that your tumor is even smaller than 2.2 cm once you get the pathology report back after surgery.  My husband's was smaller than what he was originally told by looking at the CT scan (just like many others here).
