Disecction, sorry - how long till the numbness is gone.
Why is my arm getting weaker as I get away from surgery?
When does it stop feeling like you are wearing a really big C collar?
My surgery was exactly 3 months ago.
Numbness ? I think I still have as much numbness as I had from day one after the surgery. From what I've read, some of it MAY go away and some may last forever.
Arm weakness ? I lost some range of motion of my left arm and have had a few sessions of therapy. It has helped a little. My arm/shoulder hurts once in a while. Is it possible your arm is getting weaker because you aren't using it as much as you used to?
Neck tightness ? My neck does not feel as tight (like someone is strangeling me) as it did BUT it still feels tight. The severity seems to come and go. At times I don't notice it at all and at other times I feel like I'm being choked. I am doing a few exercises to stretch my neck.
My worse problem since the surgery is that I'm getting excess foamy saliva when I drink or eat anything !! I had to get a feeding tube again because of it and the trouble swallowing. My tongue is also crooked. It curves to the left.

Neck dissection
I had right neck dissection about 18 mo ago. I have still some numbness, however it is much better than earlier days. I only notice it when I touch the both sides of my neck at the same time.
Weekness in my rigth arm got better. I feel some pain around my shoulder blades but not too bad.
I have tightness in the both sides of my neck, rigth side being the worst. I am trying physio and excercise, it seems noting is changing. But I am hoping that physio could prevent further damage.
I had feeling of strangulation right after the surgery. I sdo not have it anymore.
